About Membership Rewards

  • 1. What is Membership Rewards?

    Membership Rewards is a customer loyalty programme. American Express rewards Cardmembers that regularly use American Express Cards. The more you spend, the more Membership Rewards points you accumulate. These points can be redeemed for a wide variety of travel rewards, shopping rewards, entertainment rewards and more. Points can also be transferred to other loyalty programmes such as airlines (frequent flyer programmes) and hotels (frequent guest programmes).

  • 2. How do I enroll?

    The following personal cards are eligible to earn Membership Rewards Points and are automatically enrolled in the Program: American Express® Centurion Card, American Express® Platinum Card, American Express® Platinum Reserve Credit Card, American Express® Platinum Travel Credit Card and American Express® Gold Card. If you’re not already a Cardmember, click here to find a Card that’s best suited for you.

  • 3. I have two Cards that are eligible to earn Membership Rewards points. Can I link them together and consolidate my points?

    You may link-up any number of your American Express Basic Card Accounts for the purpose of accruing Membership Rewards Points, provided that the Cardmember is listed as the Basic Cardmember for all such Linked Accounts. Linked Cards must also participate in the same tier level.

  • 4. How do I earn points?

    You earn Membership Rewards points for all eligible purchases charged to your Card. Simply use your American Express card for all your purchases and watch your points add up quickly. Please click here to see more on earning points.

  • 5. When are the points allocated to my Membership Rewards account?

    It takes 24-48 hours after the charge has appeared on your account for your Membership Rewards points balance to update accordingly.

  • 6. How do I check my points balance?

    If you are not yet enrolled in online services and would like to view your up-to-date balance and manage your account online, click here to enroll. If you're already enrolled, just log in to see your points balance.

    Alternatively, every month you will receive Membership Rewards Statement along with your Monthly Card Account Statement which shows the number of points you have accumulated and the points you have redeemed.

  • 7. Do Membership Rewards points expire?

    All Cardmembers enrolled in Frequent Traveller Option (FTO) enjoy Membership Rewards points with no expiry. For all Cardmembers enrolled in Non Frequent Traveller option (NFTO), points expire 2 years after 12-month "Enrollment Period" in which they are earned. For all Cardmembers enrolled in General Frequent Traveller option (GFTO), points expire 3 years after 12-month "Enrollment Period" in which they are earned

  • 8. How do I redeem my points?

    Redeeming is easy rewarding.

    Your points give you access to a wide range of exciting Rewards. You can enjoy a selection of merchandise, premium travel and entertainment rewards, as well as a variety of gift cards and certificates.
